History of Plantation Petroleum Companies

Plantation Petroleum Holdings III, LLC (2005-2007)

Plantation Petroleum Holdings III, LLC (PPH III) was established by Plantation Petroleum Ventures III, LLC , EnCap Investments L.P. and Liberty Energy Holdings, LLC on June 14, 2005.

The first three months of this entity was spent evaluating a drilling development project in Gaines County, Texas, which began drilling in the fall of 2005.

In addition to the drilling project, PPH III management continued to pursue an asset acquisition from an independent operator based in Midland, Texas.  The preponderance of the assets were located in Southeast New Mexico.  The pursuit of this set of assets had been an ongoing project for over two years.  On December 15, 2005, closing on the assets occurred and the newly formed Plantation Operating, LLC (PO) took over operations.

From June 14, 2005 until October 1, 2007, PO and PPH III drilled and completed 28 wells in the Permian Basin (Texas and New Mexico), and established a large inventory of drilling locations.  On October 1, 2007, PPH III sold all of its proved producing resources and associated leasehold interests to EV Energy Partners, LP, a newly formed MLP of Enervest Energy Partners, LLC.  The sale was facilitated by Simmons & Co. and Griffis & Associates.
